Guaranteed Authenticity: Wine Blockchain

The Port Wine is a wine Industry living since Portugal's Modern Age. Many companies have already been formed ever since that date, however none of them ever created a technology good enough to distinguish each wine belongs to whom, in other words, we could say that although between two wine bottles both had different labels both could had the same flavour, the same taste. This means that wines can also be falsified.

So here we present you with the new wine authenticity method: Wine BlockChain. As many know, blockchain is a system of recording information in a way that makes it difficult or impossible to change, hack or even cheat the system, its more or less like a hash code for a certain file.

Wine Blockchain

The Wine Bockchain has been developed by a business company named EY. According to this company 20% of the wines in the market are falsified therefore there was a certain need to develop this new type of blockchain.
This tech offers the client the possibility to use a QR code. The QR code will redirect the consumer to an online page where the client can check the whole process behind a single bottle:
  • All the wine prodution;
  • The Cultivation;
  • Treatment;
  • All the phytochemicals used on the wine;
  • Wine's original Geography Information;
  • Information about the harvest.

This achievement has brought the first digital relation between producer and consumer.
